WPD to Dim the Lights and Lend Support for Earth Hour
Woodridge Park District will turn off all non-essential lighting at their Community Center and throughout the parks for Earth Hour on Saturday, March 27 at 8:30 p.m.

The Woodridge Park District recently chose Leroy Lozano of Woodridge as the 2009 Coach of the Year. Leroy has coached for the Woodridge Soccer Association and youth basketball for eight years and girl’s softball for two years.

Woodridge Park District Awarded $237,400 Grant
Woodridge Park District was awarded $237,400 through the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant to help partially fund the construction of a skatepark at Janes Avenue Park. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in late spring and will be complete later this summer. More

Eagle Scouts Recognized at Woodridge Park District Board Meeting
The Woodridge Park District Board of Commissioners recognized Nick Tempel and Alex Tokarski of Woodridge at the November 10 board meeting for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America by completing projects at Village Green Golf Course this spring and summer.

Forest Glen Park Tennis Courts Closed
The tennis courts and parking lot at Forest Glen Park are currently being resurfaced. Additionally, new fencing will be installed around the tennis courts. The courts will reopen in spring 2010.
