Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park Improvements

Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park has been serving Woodridge Park District residents since 1997. At the end of the 2008 swim season, work will begin to build a new water spray playground, an additional body flume slide and an additional program swimming pool. The facility additions to the aquatic park are in accordance with the facility's master plan and are scheduled to open at the start of the 2009 swim season.

An interactive water spray playground area will provide state-of-the art water features in two separate zones primarily for toddlers and older children. The toddler zone will include a zero-depth spray area complete with bubblers, fountains, themed bayou boat slide, and interactive water spray equipment. The older kid zone will include a themed interactive composite play equipment structure complete with dumping buckets, playground features, and slides. Additionally, a body flume slide for kids under 42" in height with an ADA accessible walkway is being incorporated into the spray park zone. Additional amenities will consist of expanded seating areas, shade, preservation of sun turf hill, and comprehensive landscaping. The program pool addition ranging in depth from 3.5' to 5' with a permanent ADA accessible ramp will provide the opportunity for new and enhanced aquatic programs and lessons, lap swimming opportunities, additional open swimming opportunities, enhanced swim team accommodations, and improved accommodations for individuals with disabilities. This facility addition will include a separate entrance in order to provide opportunities to expand swimming hours in this area of the aquatic facility as well as control separate access during swim meets.
