Woodridge Park District Finance Department Recognized for Its Financial Reporting For 11th Consecutive Year

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recognized the Woodridge Park District with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2020. This achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management to clearly communicate its financial story.

2020 marks the 11th consecutive year the District has received this prestigious award, which was established by GFOA to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles. Organizations that receive the certificate are recognized for their spirit of transparency and full disclosure to communicate the financial condition of the organization to owners, bondholders, partners, and participants.

Kudos to the Woodridge Park District finance staff: Chris Webber, Superintendent of Finance, Personnel & IT; Marie Markatos, Accountant, and Human Resource & Finance Assistant Lauren Moody; and Finance Assistant Carrie Potts.
