The Woodridge Storm U9 girls, U10 girls, U10/11 boys, U13 girls and U14 boys wore pink socks or pink stripes on their socks for the month of October to join Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There was a fundraiser for the family of Donna Buonamici who was a mom in the Woodridge community that lost her battle with breast cancer. According to friends and neighbors, Donna was a wonderful wife, mother and member of this community. She would be so glad that her community stepped up to help her family who is missing her immensely. She is survived by her husband Curt and her two children Nick and Marissa.

Beth Renchin and Bethany Dobbertin headed up the collection of donations. They were able to collect a total of $450.00! The family asked that it be donated to the research of inflammatory breast cancer. That is the form of cancer that Donna had. The donation will be put to good use in researching this rare and agressive form of breast cancer that is unfortunately not well-funded.
