Native Seed Planting Going on Now at Four Park Sites
April 24,2018 - This week, Woodridge Park District staff began planting native seeds with a hydroseeder along the streambanks at Seven Bridges, 63rd Street and Summerhill Parks, and along the drainage channels leading to Lake Carleton. This work is being done in the areas that have been cleared of invasive species. The seed mixes include a variety of native grasses and flowers, along with a cover crop to help stabilize the soil. The native grasses and flowers will take several years to establish but will improve the aesthetics and biodiversity of the sites.
