The purpose of the Woodridge Storm Soccer Club Program is to provide opportunities for soccer players who exhibit advanced skills and have a strong desire to play competitive soccer and further their development in the sport of soccer. This further development includes much more intensive skills development and conditioning with appropriate training by qualified volunteers from the community, as well as coaches and paid soccer trainers. The program is devoted primarily to providing an avenue in which the highest quality of sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play can be developed and exhibited by the select players, coaches, and trainers.
Because we are part of the Woodridge Park District, we are able to keep our fees as low as possible. Woodridge Storm Soccer Club does not pay for outdoor field rental or lights. The club receives a reduced rate to use the indoor turf for our winter practices. All these savings are passed on to the player. All fees are paid in four monthly payments after an initial deposit due upon acceptance. The fees cover all training, practices, tournaments and leagues. The only other fee is for the uniform kit which is less than $125.00.
Woodridge Storm Academy
The Woodridge Storm SC Academy provides an opportunity for players ages 5-9 –girl or boy–looking for a step-up from recreational soccer, but who may not be ready to fully commit to travel soccer. An Academy player will attend one session per week on Wednesdays 5:00-6:00 pm with our professional soccer trainer from Challenger Sports. This hour will contain drills and small-sided scrimmages. You can join the Academy while playing in WSA Recreational Soccer.
Challenger Sports supplies the trainers for the Storm and has been running summer camps through the Woodridge Park District for years. All scrimmages will be on our fields. The Academy is set up to offer training that is directly in line with the Woodridge Storm SC.
There are no tryouts. Everyone is welcome. Each participant will be given a Storm t-shirt to wear as a jersey.
