Community Survey Open Through October 31st for Resident Input

The Woodridge Park District hired the ETC Institute to conduct a statistically valid survey this summer to help determine park and recreation priorities for the community. The survey was mailed to a random sample of households within the Park District, with an option to complete it online. A total of 389 surveys were completed. While the statistically valid portion of the survey is now closed, all Woodridge Park District residents are encouraged to complete the public version, which is available on the Park District’s website through October 31st.

About the Survey

The six-page survey takes approximately 12–15 minutes to complete and includes a mix of multiple-choice, ranking, and open-ended questions. It focuses on the Park District’s facilities, parks, and services—and whether these meet your household’s recreational needs.

Why Didn’t I Receive the Original Survey?

The ETC Institute used a random sampling method to ensure broad representativeness. When households are selected randomly, it means every household within the Park District’s boundaries has an equal chance of being chosen. This method helps minimize sampling bias.

Additionally, random sampling provides a foundation for statistically reliable results. The ETC Institute calculated a margin of error of +/- 4.9% at a 95% confidence level, allowing them to quantify the reliability of the data.

When Will the Results Be Available?
Woodridge Park District staff and the Board of Commissioners will review the survey data as part of the 2026–2030 Strategic Master Plan process. Results are tentatively expected to be available on the Park District’s website in late fall 2025.
