Progress Continues at Jubilee Point Park

Construction of Jubilee Point Park is moving forward and remains on schedule, weather permitting, for completion in late 2025. This in spite of weather challenges in recent weeks. Throughout July, crews focused on mass grading work in the picnic grove and other areas of the site. Heavy rainfall in mid-to-late July and again in mid-August created saturated conditions that slowed progress, but work is continuing into August to complete grading across the park, including in the new garden plots area. On July 30, the park shelter was delivered to the site, where it will be stored until installation later in the project. In August, the contractor Schwartz Construction is targeting completion of grading work, installing storm sewer infrastructure, building culvert crossings, and the construction of a left-turn lane on Woodridge Drive. Crews will also work with ComEd to install new electrical service for the park. Looking ahead to the fall, the project will advance to underground utility installations, paving, building structures, and landscaping.

When complete, Jubilee Point Park will feature a welcoming picnic grove, community garden plots, playground equipment, multi-sport court, 2 pickleball courts, walking/biking paths, parking lot and open green spaces for recreation. The park will serve as a new destination for residents to gather, relax, and enjoy the outdoors year-round.
