The Woodridge Park District is taking a major step toward protecting the health of its community, employees, and environment by switching to a safer, herbicide-free solution for weed control. This year, the Parks Department invested in a Foamstream weed control system—a sustainable alternative to traditional chemical-based methods.
Foamstream is the world’s leading commercial herbicide-free weed control solution. It works by applying hot water insulated with a biodegradable foam made from natural plant oils and sugars, effectively killing weeds, moss, and algae without harming people, pets, or sensitive ecosystems.
“We are seeing great results within hours rather than days with our traditional chemical methods,” said Chris Blaugh, Park Maintenance Manager for the District. “It’s an effective and environmentally responsible way to keep our parks safe and beautiful.”
