On October 31, staff from the Woodridge Park District and Woodridge School District 68, along with volunteers from the non-profit organization Kids Around the World, began the removal of playground equipment at Meadowview School. This collaborative effort marks the beginning of an exciting transformation for the school’s outdoor play area.
The removed equipment will be refurbished and repurposed by Kids Around the World, who will ship it to a community where children have limited or no access to safe play spaces. This initiative not only supports global play equity but also reflects the Park District’s commitment to sustainability and community partnership.
In place of the existing structure, a brand-new playground is scheduled to be installed in late November, offering students an updated and engaging space to play, learn, and grow.
