Garden Club Presentation: A Brief History of Trees in America

The Woodridge Garden Club is hosting a free presentation on November 14, 2024. Speaker Cindy Crosby will talk about the history of trees. She earned her Masters degree in Natural Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Besides being a Master Gardener, she is a steward for the Schulenberg Prairie at the Morton Arboretum and at Nachusa Grasslands, a Nature Conservancy site with bison in Franklin Grove IL. She is the author, complier or contributor to more than twenty books. Her most recent publication is Chasing Dragonflies: A Natural, Cultural and Personal History (Northwestern University Press, 2020). On her blog “Tuesdays in the Tallgrass” she explores exterior and interior landscapes through the tallgrass prairie. She also speaks and teaches about natural history topics in the Chicago region.
