Woodridge Garden Club Meeting & Presentation: Landscaping with Native Plants

November 10, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Attend the Woodridge Park District’s Garden Club meeting and presentation on Landscaping with Native Plants. Speaker David Brooks is a professional naturalist employed by the Schaumburg Park District where he is the Manager of Conservation Services and Environmental Education Coordinator. He has given presentations on Illinois natural history and green landscaping throughout the Chicago area since 1990.

David will present for an hour about natives suitable for the backyard garden. As water becomes a premium resource and climate change is affecting our growing season, native plants become a valuable resource for the home gardener. They are more hardy than hybrids and can withstand tougher conditions once established. He will help unlock the beauty and environmental benefits of using native plants in the home landscape. The presentation will review the benefits of using natives and introduce you to a wide range of these beautiful plants for home gardens as well as how to incorporate them into your landscape.

This meeting/presentation is free and open to the public.
