July 25, 2014 – On Thursday, July 24, the Village of Woodridge Mayor and Board of Trustees approved a bid to demolish the retail strip center and office building known as Janes Plaza, located at the northeast corner of Janes Avenue and 83rd Street. Demolition work on the site is expected to begin in August. Demolition of the site is part of the effort to construct the Woodridge Park District’s Athletic Recreation Center (ARC) at the site. The Park District has submitted for zoning approvals for the development of the ARC and plans are currently under review with the Village. A public hearing on the zoning aspect of the project will be scheduled for early fall.
