November 7, 2014 – The Village of Woodridge officially approved at the village board meeting on November 6, 2014 the Woodridge Park District’s petition requesting:
1) a special use permit for public or private facilities such as libraries, hospitals, institutions, government buildings and other similar uses for the Athletic Recreation Center, on the Janes Plaza Shopping Center property (8201 S. Janes Avenue, Woodridge, IL), together with certain deviations from the Zoning Ordinance, and,
2) the rezoning of a portion of the SUBJECT REALTY (Janes Avenue Soccer Fields) described as PARCEL 2 from the Woodridge R-1 District zoning classification to Village of Woodridge B-1 District zoning classification.
The zoning approval now sets the stage for the project to transition to the next planning phases that includes completing construction documentation, obtain building permits, bidding, award contracts, finalize phase two financing and start construction tentatively scheduled for spring 2015.
