June 28, 2017 – Construction of a 7,500 square-foot multi-activity court (MAC) gym at the ARC, Woodridge Park District’s athletic recreation center, began on June 14, with completion of the MAC gym expected in spring 2018.
The gym was originally planned as part of the Phase 1 development of the ARC construction project but was removed due to the previous suspension of the Park and Recreational Facility Construction (PARC) grant authorized in October 2014. After a 22-month suspension of the originally approved grant, the Woodridge Park District was notified on August 10, 2016 by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that the District’s $2.5MM grant was reinstated for full funding. The grant funds have been deposited and are earmarked to complete the original facility design which encompassed the MAC gym.
