Dan Peboontom’s name and face may be recognizable to most as he has been with the Woodridge Park District for almost 20 years. Raised in Woodridge since he was just a year old, Dan has participated in several Park District programs that he now oversees which include adult athletics, family trips, the Woodridge Soccer Association and Storm travel soccer.
While working as a park monitor and softball and tennis supervisor for the Downers Grove Park District, Dan developed an interest in athletics and the park district industry. He interned for the Ritz Carlton recreation department in Amelia Island, Florida and after graduating Eastern Illinois University, he landed his first full-time job as a recreation supervisor for the Wood Dale Park District. In February 1998, the opportunity to work in his hometown presented itself and he was hired as the new athletic supervisor for the Woodridge Park District. Dan refers to his work at the park district as gratifying because is able to give back to the town that he calls home.
When he is not at work, Dan’s interests revolve around sports, with soccer his sport of choice. He is a proud dad to his 9-year-old son, Ty, and his 7-year-old daughter, Mary.
