Park District Landscape Designer & Planner Awarded 2018 Public Employee of the Year

Ryan Bordewick, Landscape Designer & Planner at the Woodridge Park District, was awarded the 2018 Public Employee of the Year as part of the Village’s Community Recognition Program. Ryan has been an essential part of the District for 12 years, contributing to the successful design, construction and completion of so many projects throughout the parks and facilities in Woodridge.

One of Ryan’s best traits is his eye for detail which helps the District set a standard that everyone at the District and within the community is proud of. During his career at the Park District, he has volunteered in many ways. He has stepped up and volunteered in committees associated with the Midwest Institute of Park Executives and has been given awards through that organization including the President’s Award, as well as Outstanding Park Employee. Ryan has also volunteered locally being a Landscape Designer at Career Day for Jefferson Junior High, assisting with many volunteer events throughout the Park District and assisting Senior Garden Clubs planting at the Community Center as well as SEASPAR Groups with plantings of the raised planting beds at Forest Glen Park.
