The Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) will recognize Josh Williams, the Regional Program Director of All Star Sports Instruction, better known as “Coach Bubba,” with a statewide award at the IAPD 2024 Best of the Best Award Gala on Friday, October 25.
Coach Bubba will be honored with the statewide “Good Sportsmanship” award for his commitment to creating positive experiences for youth participants and transforming beginner athletes into lifelong sports enthusiast through his instruction of All Star Sports program at the Woodridge Park District.
His teaching approach prepares kids for future success in athletics and ensures that his participants transition seamlessly into other Park District sports programs. He acts as a bridge, connecting beginners to lifelong sports enthusiasts.
Furthermore, Coach Bubba’s commitment to creating positive experiences align seamlessly with the Woodridge Park District’s mission to enhance the quality of life for its residents. His influence extends beyond the sports fields and facility walls, promoting fun and positive sportsmanship. His work lays a foundation for future athletes, nurturing a lifelong love for sports and fostering a sense of community.

The Woodridge Park District’s nomination of Coach Bubba for the 2024 Good Sportsmanship award was selected above numerous nominations from other park districts, forest preserves, conservation and recreation agencies throughout the state. The IAPD’s Best of the Best Awards Gala provides an opportunity to recognize the outstanding contributions that park districts, board members, and citizen volunteers make each year to improve communities throughout Illinois.
