The Woodridge Park District has been honored with the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the calendar year ending December 31, 2023, which is the 15th consecutive year the District has received this distinguished award. This prestigious recognition is the highest award in the field of governmental and financial reporting, highlighting a government’s commitment to transparently and clearly communicate its financial position.
The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program to encourage state and local governments to exceed the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles. Organizations awarded this certificate are celebrated for their dedication to transparency and full disclosure, ensuring stakeholders, such as owners, bondholders, partners, and participants, are well-informed about the organization’s financial health.
